Capoeira is like a game, often described as a Brazilian martial art. Games like these were brought to Brazil by the African population during the slave trade. So, the origin can already be found in the sixteenth century. Martial arts, which were very important to the slaves to be able to defend themselves, were outlawed. In order to practice the fighting, this dance form was invented.
