Spinning is a training on hypermodern, elegant bikes. It is an endurance training at its finest: no distraction, no digital guidance, no choreography.

There is no denial: you’ll have to do it all yourself. Your legs, your heart, your own physical fitness. But, you don’t need an excellent physical fitness to participate in spinning class. On the contrary, you can do spinning completely at your own level. With the resistance knob, you decide the level of your own training.

Spinning is an individual training but carried out in a group while listening to the beats of uplifting music. You get to control the intensity of the class, because you regulate the resistance on the bike yourself.

On the contrary, you can do spinning completely at your own level. With the resistance knob, you decide the level of your own training.

Spinning classes

Spinning is an individual training but carried out in a group while listening to the beats of uplifting music. You get to control the intensity of the class, because you regulate the resistance on the bike yourself. The class consists of a warming up, then there is sprinting alternated with climbs and standing and seating cycling and of course the class finishes with a cooling down and stretch.

A spinning class is the ultimate way to work on your physical fitness. The workout is fun, varies every time and very intensive, yet accessible for participants of all levels.

What do you need?

The bikes used in spinning class are available at the sport studios of VU Sport Centre. For a spinning class it is important to wear good and supporting indoor sport shoes, or cycling shoes with a click system, as well as comfortable sportswear. A special cycling short with chamois padding is recommended. Besides that, we recommend you bring a bottle of water and a towel. Pay attention: Using a towel is obliged at the VU Sports Centre, both for the group classes and in the fitness areas.

Online reservations

It is recommended to make an online reservation for spinning, so you are sure you’ll have a bike. Making an online reservation is possible starting two days before the class. To do so, go to mijn.sportcentrumvu.nl. Once you have logged in (use the email address known at the VU Sports centre and apply for your password via ´forgot  password´ if necessary) you can find the classes which you can reserve under the header ¨reserve¨. We would like to remind you that this is possible two days in advance.
