Posture pilates / raynetics
Posture Pilates /Raynetics is a complete body workout with low impact and high intensity
That way you can improve strength, flexibility and coordination. The focus is on posture while working on the lower body, abs, back and shoulders. The goal of the class is to train good, strong and conscious posture in everyday life.
In Posture Pilates / Raynetics classes, participants will recognize elements from Pilates and Yoga classes. The origin of Posture Pilates / Raynetics lies with founder Raimondo Fornoni, an emeritus ballet dancer of the National Ballet. He developed his own method and this body of thought can now be experienced at VU Sports Center. This group lesson takes place in the studios in Amstelveen at location Uilenstede, of course, this group lesson is for all ages.
During class you will work on improving strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. Posture Pilates is a combination of concentric movements (focused on strength and shortening the muscles) and eccentric movements (focused on increasing flexibility and lengthening the muscles). The combination of both encourages an increase in flexibility and control of the body and movements.
To achieve this, the movements are performed in:
- standing position (balance, strength and agility)
- Lying position (coordination and focus on abdominal muscles)
- on hands and knees (strength and coordination)
- Sitting (coordination and flexibility)
- per lesson, alternating a number of exercises with a partner. Buddy up: helping each other in coordination and suppleness
What do you need?
The lesson is partly standing and partly sitting/lying. You need to bring a sports mat and it is important that you wear comfortable sportswear. Shoes are not necessary, you perform the lesson on socks or bare feet. It is also advisable to bring a water bottle and a towel for sweating. Note: The use of a towel is mandatory at Sports Centre VU, in all group classes and in the fitness area.
