Cookie statement

The website sportcentrumvu.nl uses cookies. A cookie is a small file that is placed on the internet user's computer. There are technical cookies and tracking cookies. They are sent along with pages from this website (and/or Flash applications) and stored by the browser on the hard drive of your computer. The information stored therein can be sent back to our servers on a subsequent visit. Although the vast majority of cookies do not collect personal data, permission must still be requested in the Netherlands for the use of cookies. In our cookie statement we explain what we are going to place, what we are going to place it for and whether we provide the data obtained to third parties. It is not the case that you will immediately receive all cookies on your computer when you visit our website: it depends on the specific page you visit, and possibly an action you perform on that page (for example, when you fill in a form).

Functional cookies
Functional cookies can, for example, remember a login or the contents of a shopping cart. They play a functional role within a site and do not infringe privacy.

Permanent cookies
If you have given permission for the placement of cookies, or if you have used our website, we can remember this by means of a permanent cookie. We can recognize you when you visit our website again. The website can therefore be specially set to your preferences. This means that you do not have to repeat your preferences every time, which saves you time and allows you to use our website more pleasantly. The permanent cookie remembers for ten years that permission has been given from a certain device to place cookies. After that, we will again ask for permission.

Our own tracking cookies
With your permission, or after you have used our website, we place a cookie on your equipment, which can be requested as soon as you visit a website from our network. This allows us to find out that in addition to our website you have also visited the relevant other website(s) from our network. The profile thus built up is not linked to your name, address, e-mail address and the like, but only serves to match advertisements to your profile, so that they are as relevant as possible.

Third-party tracking cookies
With your permission, or after you have used our website, our advertisers place "tracking cookies" on your equipment. They use these cookies to keep track of which pages you visit from their network, in order to build a profile of your online surfing behaviour. This profile is partly built on the basis of comparable information that they receive from your visit to other websites in their network. This profile is not linked to your name, address, e-mail address and the like as known to us, but only serves to tailor advertisements to your profile so that they are as relevant as possible. The VU uses remarketing cookies and pixels, that are used for activities related to bachelor's and master's recruitment. The cookies are small code fragments embedded in specific pages for the purpose of compiling a remarketing list based on a cookie ID. Google cookies make it possible to show targeted advertisements via the Google advertising network on other websites that are connected to the Google display network. Facebook pixels ensure that, if you are logged in to Facebook, we can show you relevant advertisements on Facebook and measure the result.

Google analytics cookies
A cookie is placed via our website from the American company Google, as part of the “Analytics” service. We use this service to keep track of and get reports on how visitors use the website. Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally obliged to do so, or if third parties process the information on behalf of Google. We have no influence on this. We have not allowed Google to use the obtained analytics information for other Google services. The information that Google collects is anonymized as much as possible. Your IP address is emphatically not given. The information is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google claims to adhere to the Safe Harbor principles and is affiliated with the Safe Harbor program of the US Department of Commerce. This means that there is an appropriate level of protection for the processing of any personal data.

Social networks cookies
Buttons are included on our website to promote ("like") or share ("tweet") web pages on social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube, Flickr, AddThis, Pinterest and Twitter. These buttons work by means of pieces of code that come from Facebook/LinkedIn/Twitter (or other social networks) themselves. Cookies are placed through this code. We have no influence on that. Read the privacy statement of Facebook or Twitter (which can change regularly) to read what they do with your (personal) data that they process via these cookies. The information they collect is anonymized as much as possible. The information is transferred to and stored by Twitter, Facebook, Google and LinkedIn on servers in the United States. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Google adhere to the Safe Harbor principles and are affiliated with the Safe Harbor program of the US Department of Commerce. This means that there is an appropriate level of protection for the processing of any personal data.
