Yoga Teacher Training

During the Yoga Teacher Training you will learn all the basics of vinyasa yoga in 300 hours and transform into a vinyasa yoga teacher. Deepen your own knowledge of yoga and improve your skills.

We are looking for volunteers who want to join and support the VU Sports Centre Yoga Teacher Trainees in April, May and June!

Yoga amsterdam

When?

Yoga Teacher Training starts in October 2022, for a period of 9 months.

  • 1 weekend a month, Friday to Sunday
  • October, November and December 2021: the first weekend of the month
  • January to June 2022: the last weekend of the month

The Yoga Teacher Training will take place at Sportcentrum VU Location Uilenstede.



Costs

The cost of the Yoga Teacher Training is € 2.100,-. For anyone who registers before August 31, we have a 10% early bird discount! The costs of the course will than be € 1.890,-!

20:00 – 22:00: Foundation of yoga asanas, something about yoga: history, philosophy, anatomy.

Zaterdag
10:00 – 12:00: Workshop of learning topic: yoga asanas, methodology or yoga philosophy or yoga anatomy or sequencing.
12:00 – 13:00: Lunch
13:00 – 15:30: Teaching practice
15:30 – 15:45: Break
15:45 – 17:30: Workshop of learning topic, teaching practice, group study presentation

Zondag
10:15 – 12:00: Vinyasa class practice – meditation (part of the vu calendar)
12:00 – 13:00: Lunch
13:00 – 15:30: Teaching practice
15:00 – 16:00: Break
16:00 – 17:30: Workshop of learning topic, teaching practice, group study presentation

Curriculum

YOGA STYLES
Learn different styles of yoga with the short-form of ashtanga yoga, all series, vinyasa yoga, yoga for beginners, all levels, yin yoga, yoga nidra, guided meditation. In this program, you are welcome and encouraged to become the yoga teacher you aspire to be.

YOGA ANATOMY
Familiarize yourself with the full spectrum of the human body structures and how the Yoga Postures inter-relate to it.  

YOGA PHILOSOPHY
Establish a clear and light understanding of yoga philosophy with the Yoga Sutras to share with ease in class. Learn to seamlessly weave your personal interpretations of yoga text into your classes. 

VERBAL AND HANDS-ON ASSIST
Learn the art of verbal and touch adjustments to help students to relax and to deepen their poses.  Observe bodies with awareness of anatomy and provide your students with modifications to prevent injury. 

HOME YOGA PRACTICE
Develop and deepen your personal yoga practice at home with pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation routine. Experience a sustainable, progressive practice that will inspire and propel your students.

TEACHING PRACTICE
Discover your skills to teach with rhythmic, clear cuing and intelligent sequencing of yoga postures. Learn methods and tools to sequence effectively and safely. Create your own classes with themes you wish to bring to life. Develop your voice as you teach to your peers and collect invaluable individual feedbacks throughout the process.

GROUP STUDY
Develop friendships and collective support through topic of research and Group Teach Practice. This method has proven to be the most effective way to become a confident and a well-established Yoga Teacher.
