Xcore stands for Extreme core and is the ultimate stomach and back training. The movements during the class are mainly focused on strengthening the core (stomach and back). The workout is done to the beats of uplifting music, is great fun and works very motivating. Xco is for everyone and anyone!
Because of the varied sizes and weights of the Xcore trainers (tubes with gravel) you can start at your own level and make it as demanding and intense as you want.

Xcore is for everyone and anyone! Because of the varied sizes and weights of the Xcore trainers (tubes with gravel) you can start at your own level and make it as demanding and intense as you want. Xcore classes take place at one of the studios at location Uilenstede in Amstelveen.
During the classes you will do exercises with the Xcore trainer (a tube with gravel). By moving the tube from left to right, the gravel will follow with a small delay. Every movement causes an additional force on your muscles, and therefor training them. However, you won’t train only your muscles, also your connective tissue will need to work. The developers of Xcore call that ‘Reactive impact’.
Working out with the Xcore trainer means an intense training for your core: the abs and the back. Xco is the perfect workout for tighter muscles, improving your shape and your overall fitness. Besides burning calories, you’ll also work on stability, flexibility and improving your posture (coordination and balance).
The Xcore trainers (a tube with gravel) used in Xcore class are available at the sport studios of VU Sports centre. For this class it is important to wear good and supporting indoor sport shoes as well as comfortable sportswear. You are obviously more than welcome to bring your own mat if you want to. Besides that, we recommend you bring a bottle of water and a towel. Pay attention: Using a towel is obliged at VU Sports centre, both for the group classes and in the fitness areas.
