Beginner classes are the perfect start for anyone who wants to work on fitness
self-confidence and discipline. During the lessons, you will learn the basics of
taekwondo, from powerful punches and kicks to effective blocking.

What will you learn?

Class starts with an introduction about Taekwondo, followed by a warm-up to loosen your
muscles. We then practise the basic stances so that you learn good posture
posture. You'll then learn the basic stances of punching, kicking, and blocking with
simple techniques such as fist punches and front kicks.

Classes focus on the core values of taekwondo:

  • discipline
  • respect
  • perseverance

We finish with a cooldown to relax your muscles and discuss what you have learned.

Each class is one step closer to becoming more confident, better fit, and developing
of a stronger mind.

What to bring to class?

It is important to wear comfortable sportswear. It is also advisable to bring a drinking bottle and a towel for sweating.

Note: The use of a towel is compulsory at Sportcentrum VU, at all group classes and in the gym.
